Unlock the secrets of GivingTuesday, and prepare your nonprofit to make the most out of this global movement of generosity. Here’s part one of our guide on how to create content that will open hearts and wallets this #GivingTuesday.

01. Download the official toolkit

You can get the official #GivingTuesday toolkit at GivingTuesday.org, along with tons of great ideas on how to leverage the holiday. The toolkit includes official campaign logos, photos, GIFS, a campaign guide, sample email marketing timeline, email templates, social media graphics, and social media caption templates.

02. Leverage Social Media

Social media is a great way to connect with your donors and generate excitement for GivingTuesday. Share your stories, promote your campaign, run contests and giveaways. You can also use social media to answer questions and address any concerns that your donors may have.

03. Use video to tell your story

Video is a powerful way to connect with and emotionally engage your audience. Create short videos that highlight the impact of your work and share them on your website and social media channels.

04. Update Your Website

Refresh your page, especially for Giving Tuesday. Add “Donate” buttons, photos, or videos of what your organization did with the funds raised in the past year, or what you’re looking forward to doing this year.

05. Thank your donors!

Be sure to thank your donors for their generosity, both on GivingTuesday and throughout the year. You can send them personalized thank-you notes, or create a special thank-you page on your website.

Additional tips for Giving Tuesday:

Run a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, offer recurring donations, share stories about the impact of your work, highlight your GivingTuesday campaign, offer matching gifts and other incentives, engage your donors on social media, and partner with other organizations. Remember, you can also include a link to your nonprofit’s website or GivingTuesday campaign page in your bio.

Help us make a difference this GivingTuesday! It’s the perfect time to share your nonprofit’s story and raise awareness for your cause.
